We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join an outstanding special needs school in the Maidstone area, supporting secondary-aged students with PMLD. This is a unique opportunity to work within a nurturing and inclusive environment, where you can help students flourish both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group support to secondary students with PMLD, assisting with learning activities and daily tasks.
  • Offer personal care support, including help with toileting and feeding, while ensuring each student's dignity and well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement tailored Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and manage behaviour effectively.
  • Create a supportive, safe, and engaging atmosphere that encourages students to achieve their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to an hour to work.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly PMLD, is advantageous.
  • Ability to provide personal care support, including toileting and feeding, as needed.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, flexibility, and a positive approach.
  • Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and obtain clearances.
  • Hold, or be willing to apply for, an enhanced DBS (child workforce) on the update service.
