My clinet believes that all children and young people have the right to participate in matters affecting their lives and that they should be enabled to give their opinions, and to have those opinions seriously considered. In this vital role you will take the lead in participation of children and young people within the Children and Young People's Directorate.

You will work with others to deliver the outcomes of the Participation Strategy and support children to learn self-expression, empowerment and have a real influence on the type and quality of service they receive.

The candidate will be a graduate with strong proven experience in working in a leadership role in Children's Services, having worked as a Participation Lead or Officer with strong experience in Participation from a management perspective and is a true ambassador for Children in our Care and Care Leavers.

They will have key skills in improving service quality, delivering an effective quality assurance framework. Have experience in project management and can confidently write complex reports and policy documents.

Collaboration and communication is key in this role, with the ability to inspire and develop staff.

Key responsibilities include;

• To oversee and coordinate the current participation activity within the service which involves children and young people directorate.

• To oversee and coordinate the implementation of Mind of My Own within the service.

• To support the effective involvement and influence of children in care and care leavers in the corporate parenting committee.

• To provide meaningful feedback to children in care and care leavers on the outcomes of consultations and other activities.

• To drive the recruitment and support of the Young Ambassadors activity. They will have key skills in improving service quality, delivering an effective quality assurance framework.
