About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced and dedicated Apprenticeship Skills Tutor to support and enhance the apprentice and employer experience through effective skills coaching and tutoring. This role is pivotal in helping apprentices achieve success by guiding them through their learning journey, providing workplace visits, and ensuring that they complete their End Point Assessment (EPA) in a timely manner.
As an Apprenticeship Skills Tutor, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of apprentices, conducting regular progress reviews, offering pastoral support, and working closely with employers to ensure compliance with training requirements. This role involves regular travel to apprentices' places of work, and a valid driving license and regular access to a vehicle is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide coaching and skills support to apprentices to ensure successful, timely completion of EPA.
- Conduct regular tripartite reviews with apprentices and their line managers.
- Support the development of apprentices by visiting their workplaces, gathering evidence, and documenting it in the e-portfolio (OneFile).
- Assist apprentices in preparing for qualifications such as functional skills and End Point Assessment.
- Work closely with employers to ensure they understand and fulfill their training responsibilities.
- Provide pastoral support, including advice on e-portfolio usage and additional support needs.
- Document all learner progress, ensure accurate data is maintained, and meet deadlines for reporting.
- Participate in training, professional development, and team meetings.
- Promote Safeguarding, British Values, Prevent, and Equality & Diversity within the apprenticeship programme.
- Ensure the workplace environment remains safe and conducive to learning.
Role Objectives
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of learner start, review, and completion paperwork.
- Administer initial assessments and contribute to qualification registration and achievement.
- Support the creation of individual learning plans that align with the apprenticeship framework.
- Maintain regular progress reviews and adhere to SFA guidelines for learner assessments.
- Build strong relationships with apprentices and employers to enhance the learning experience.
- Proactively support apprentices in overcoming barriers to achievement.
- Support learner recruitment activities and contribute to overall team performance.
- Promote Health and Safety practices and maintain compliance with safeguarding policies.
Key Requirements
- Experience in supporting apprentices in vocational learning environments.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a caseload of learners effectively.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to learners and employers.
- A valid driving licence and regular access to a vehicle.
- Understanding of apprenticeship frameworks, functional skills, and End Point Assessment processes.
