Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Computer Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team. This full-time, long-term position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' learning experiences. The successful candidate will work closely with the Computer Science department, supporting both teachers and students to achieve academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Computer Science teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students to enhance their understanding of computer science concepts.
- Help prepare teaching materials and resources for lessons.
- Support students with coursework, projects, and exam preparation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative teaching strategies and classroom activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of computer lab equipment and software.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of computer science principles and programming languages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
- A DBS on the update service is mandatory.
