Deputy Manager, Day Centre, Horticulture, Gardens - Autism and Learning Disabilities

Flintshire
Salary 29k

This is a one-off opportunity for someone to become Deputy Manager for a life-changing day service for adults with learning disabilities. You will have experience of working with adults with complex needs including learning disabilities and autism, and either professional experience of, or a very keen interest and knowledge of horticulture, gardening or landscaping.

You will lead, manage and further develop the day to day operations of various day services, offering your clients rewarding activities and opportunities for them to gain skills and experience in the organisation's fantastic grounds. These include garden spaces, woodland, and much more. You will be working with them on various horticulture projects including maintaining the landscaped gardens of the care homes, growing a wide range of plants and managing their recently acquired woodland area.

As a compassionate and experienced people manager, your main aims and responsibilities will be to motivate and support the team by providing clear vision and direction. You will provide encouragement to the team and ensure they have the skills and knowledge to provide the best possible levels of person-centred care to the adults they support.

In order to ensure the continued success of the service you will have the opportunity to actively engage with the local and wider community promoting your services, as well as developing the commercial aspect of the business.

This role would suit someone with a background in social care, managing services for adults with learning disabilities, or perhaps running a business or social enterprise offering day services, with experience of building effective partnerships with other organisations. Must be a strong leader with proven people management experience.

Experience and knowledge of working in a gardening, landscape gardening, horticulture or similar environment is a huge advantage
