Plant Manager - Anaerobic Digestion

The Graduate Project is working with a leading player in the energy-from-waste sector to find an experienced Plant Manager for an anaerobic digestion facility in South London. This role is pivotal in enhancing plant performance, driving operational excellence, and supporting sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for:
· Maximising plant efficiency: Oversee feedstock processing and planning, analyse performance data through weekly/monthly reporting, and strategise for operational enhancements.
· Technical problem-solving: Tackle technical variances and lead site maintenance, including planned preventive maintenance (PPM) initiatives.
· Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Draft risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), ensuring adherence to HSE standards and managing regulatory relationships, including with the Environmental Agency.
· Team leadership and development: Manage and upskill a team of operators with varied experience and qualifications, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
· Maintenance coordination: Perform first-line mechanical maintenance and escalate complex issues to the on-call team.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will bring:
· Strong experience in anaerobic digestion or similar sectors (e.g., energy-from-waste, biomass)
· WAMITAB AD certification (highly desirable) and qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline
· Plant operator skills (telehandler, loading shovel, excavator) and excellent computer literacy
· A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and a genuine passion for the renewables industry
Salary and Benefits
· Base salary + car allowance + bonus (up to £68,000 based on experience)
