Business:         The ReFood AD plants operate as integrated recycling units, processing a variety of food wastes to produce renewable electricity, heat and ReFood, a nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farms. The plants also recycle the food waste packaging. The plants provide an environmentally sustainable solution for all waste producers looking for a safe method of diverting food waste from landfill.

The Position

Applications are invited for a Technical Manager at our ReFood Ltd, Doncaster site. The role involves working 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. As a Technical Manager your duties and responsibilities will vary but will include:

  • Undertake detailed analysis of production process data and provide relevant information / supporting data to Senior Managers.
  • Working in conjunction with AD Supervisor to highlight potential inefficiencies within plant operations and provide solutions / ways to improve the plant.
  • Provide support to the AD Supervisor in optimisation of productivity through integrated process control functions.
  • Investigate any anomalies, which have been highlighted by the analysis.
  • Monitor compliance within operations, working closely with the Compliance Officer to ensure the required procedures, documentation and training is completed in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Provide support in respect of internal and external audits. 
  • Work in compliance with standards ISO9001, PAS110 and ADQP.
  • Assist in implementation and integration of any new technologies and developments.
  • Assist in Project Management activities on new or existing ventures/processes.

The Person

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.
  • Have a working knowledge of the AD or waste/by-product sector, along with process control logic.
  • Previous process plant experience, preferably involving biological processes or treatment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication and IT skills - must be proficient with MS Office.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to make decisions, inclusive of prioritising workload and deliver on time.
  • Full driving licence and flexibility to travel to other sites, when required.
