We are a highly successful community all age special school for students aged 3-19 years old with severe and complex learning difficulties including autism. We currently have a 240 pupil/student placement capacity.

A key feature of our school is the provision of a high quality education programme tailored specifically for individual needs. Meeting individual needs follows a route of Education Health Care Planning, with personalised plans engaging with a wide range of supporting agencies.

The school has an extended workforce with a large dedicated staff team who constantly strive to ensure that each pupil and student maximises their potential. Our wide range of specialist staff and facilities ensures that appropriate support and guidance is available for all students across the full curriculum/age range.

We are looking for a good team player preferably with experience working with children with additional needs but not essential. You must have a desire to learn and develop new skills. We expect all our Teaching Assistants to be flexible and willing to work with all ages. The needs of our students range from severe to complex needs.

We are looking for Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team and be part of our learning community. You are required for 26.40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Apply online only). Term time only plus 5 non-pupil days.

Start date: 2nd September 2024

Duties:

Support literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills development.
Attend to personal care needs, following each student's Care Plan.
Promote positive student behavior and keep students on task.
Participate in planning and evaluation of learning activities.
Monitor and record student responses and achievements.
Assist in the implementation of educational and care programs.
Select and maintain appropriate resources and specialist equipment.
Liaise with staff and other professionals, providing necessary student information.
Supervise students during breaks and educational visits, facilitating games and activities.
Physically assist students during activities, such as PE.
