A vibrant primary school in LS6, Leeds, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role involves supporting a mixed Year 4 & 5 class, providing a nurturing environment and assisting with the educational development of students. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on young learners.
Day-to-day of the role: - Assist the teacher in planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
- Provide support to individual students and small groups to help them understand the material and complete tasks.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support students in developing their social skills.
- Help to create a safe, orderly and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Assist with the organisation of classroom activities and school events.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to enhance the learning experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within Key Stage 2.
- Strong understanding of the educational needs of children in Year 4 & 5.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- A proactive and patient approach to student learning and classroom management.
- Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualifications are desirable.
