Job Title: Social WorkerLocation: SandwellRate: £32 per hourOur client in Sandwell is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join their Learning Disabilities and Autism Team.

What will your responsibilities be?In this role, you will conduct thorough social care assessments to identify the needs of adults with learning disabilities and autism. You will develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual needs. Providing prompt support to meet immediate risks and needs in crisis situations will be part of your responsibilities. You will manage a caseload, ensuring timely and effective support for each client. Collaborating with colleagues in health and other partner agencies, you will contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments for improved outcomes. You will identify, investigate, and manage potential safeguarding issues to ensure the protection of adults from abuse and neglect. Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures is crucial. Additionally, you will carry out Mental Capacity Assessments and make Best Interest decisions as required.

Qualifications and Experience:To be successful in this role, you will need a recognized professional qualification in social work, such as an MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW (Certificate of Qualification in Social Work). You must be registered with Social Work England, the regulatory body for social workers in England. Significant experience in delivering social work services to vulnerable adults, including those with learning disabilities and Autism, is essential. You should have a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Strong assessment and analysis skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, are crucial. Additionally, a full UK driving licence and access to a car are often required for client visits.
