Role Overview:
As an LSA, you will play a key role in supporting the learning and well-being of students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and the wider school community to create a positive and inclusive environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with young people, enjoys a dynamic environment, and is committed to making a real difference in the lives of students with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group support to students with SEMH needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
Assist in the delivery of tailored interventions and learning plans, ensuring students are engaged and supported throughout their learning.
Help to manage classroom behaviour, promoting positive behaviour strategies and providing emotional support where needed.
Work collaboratively with teachers to create a positive and productive learning environment for all students.
Encourage the development of social and emotional skills, supporting students in developing positive relationships and coping strategies.
Assist with personal care tasks, where appropriate, ensuring students are comfortable and able to participate fully in school life.
Monitor student progress and contribute to feedback and reports, providing insights into students' emotional and academic development.
Support students during breaks, lunchtime, and extracurricular activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
Engage with other professionals, including SENCOs, therapists, and external agencies, to ensure a holistic approach to student support.Key Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations and provide positive reinforcement.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of staff, students, and external professionals.
A passion for helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and develop their full potential.
Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to adapt to a challenging and dynamic environment.
A willingness to undergo further training and development in areas such as safeguarding, behaviour management, and SEMH-related support.
