A private family run nursery in Finchley that caters for children aged 3 months to 5 years is looking an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join their team ASAP.

The successful candidate must be highly motivated, have a positive attitude towards working with children, and be ready to lead and manage a team of staff.

It's an office based role but you will be required to cover across all classrooms and kitchen when needed whilst supervising 39 staff daily across the 5 classrooms.

This is a FULL TIME PERMANENT vacancy and you will need to be able to commit to working Monday to Friday 40 hours per week:

Rotating shifts:

Opening Nursery: 7am-4pm

Closing Nursery: 9.30am-6.30pm

The successful candidate will be required to carry out the following duties:

* To assist the Manager and deputise in the absence of the Manager

* Supporting & supervising members of staff

* Ensuring policies & procedures are kept up to date and ensure all staff are aware of changes

* Responsible for ratios, ensuring you have enough staff at all times

* Provide safe, High Quality Care and Education for the children aged between 3 months and five years on a daily basis.

* To fulfil legal and statutory requirements as stated by the governing body OFSTED, EYFS, Safeguarding, Fire Safety Regulations, Health and Safety Regulations, Local Authority Regulations, Food Safety

* To be committed to continuous professional development and promote this within the Nursery.

* To be a positive role model for staff, parents and children at all times.

* Minimum level 3 childcare qualification

* At least 2 years experience managing a childcare setting

* Confident with leading & supervising

* Aware of Ofsted requirements

* Team player

* Up to date DBS (if not, be willing to get a new one)

* Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

* Clear and demonstrable management and leadership skills

* Good ICT skills-Microsoft Word, Excel

Can accommodate parking if necessary

Salary starting at £40,000 (Salary negotiable depending on experience)
