Position: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: London, commutable from Romford, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Dagenham, Tilbury, Basildon, Canvey Island, Southend-on-Sea, Leigh-on-Sea, Hadleigh, Ilford, Stratford, Epping, Edmonton, Upminster.
Remuneration: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on relevant industry experience + company benefits
We have an exciting Electrical Design Engineer vacancy at our London facility. As a leading Integrator of automation systems we are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our business. We are a leading provider of customised automated solutions for a wide range of industry sectors including Automated Warehouse, FMCG, Logistics, Pharmaceutical, Food & Drink, and Automotive. Our projects involve understanding customer needs, conceptualising initial designs, engineering the design and then manufacturing the automated solution. We integrate advanced automation technologies, including robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC control systems, to deliver innovative solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities, Skills and Experience:
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, drawings, panel layouts and diagrams using EPLAN (preferred) or Solidworks/AutoCAD Electrical software.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate electrical systems into overall machinery designs.
- Specify and select components for projects, including motors, drives, controls, actuators, and linear systems, considering performance, compatibility, and cost.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all electrical designs.
- Support the assembly, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Maintain clear documentation and records of electrical designs and project progress.
- A technical electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or apprenticeship).
- Prior experience working on similar projects (special purpose machinery, automation systems, packaging machinery, end of line systems, robotic systems, conveyors, material handling systems, auto-tending machinery).
- Proficiency in electrical design software, such as EPLAN or Solidworks Electrical.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a cohesive team environment or on your own.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in assembly, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems is advantageous.
