A dedicated Head of Staffing Operations with at least 3 years of recruitment experience is needed to join our team at Freemans Event Partners, a leading provider of a wide spectrum of services based in Gloucester, on a full-time basis.

Over the past 45 years, we have grown to a business that reaches over 15 million people yearly at over 400 events across the UK and Europe. We cater for a wide range of events, from racing to rugby and other sporting tournaments, festivals, and concerts.

As Head of Staffing Operations, you will execute the FEP Food and Beverage staffing strategy for the casual workforce, ensure the strategy is within budget, and optimise event delivery in line with company standards, operational requirements, and legal obligations.

You will lead the Staffing Team to ensure adequate staffing requirements at events, with teams who can provide exceptional service and create positive experiences for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the Staffing Team for the FEP Food and Beverage division to develop and implement a comprehensive staffing strategy for our casual workforce, which is tailored to the needs of each event, considering factors such as event type, size, and location
Provide support and guidance to the Staffing Managers and Staffing Assistants, ensuring all training requirements are fulfilled to ensure the successful execution of the staffing plans
Oversee the whole recruitment process from sourcing candidates to induction
Monitor and manage the performance of all staffing agencies and suppliers, ensuring they confirm our standards and legal requirements and consistently deliver the quality and quantity required
Ensure we engage with and retain our event staff through effective onboarding processes, appropriate training, good welfare standards, and regular quality communication
Resolve any issues or queries on-site in a professional and timely manner
Liaise with the Head of People and Culture to resolve issues or concerns
Ensure all staffing practices adhere to legal requirements and health and safety regulations
Work closely with the People and Culture Team to ensure compliance
Work with the Finance Team to develop a good understanding and accurate forecast of staffing needs relating to budget
Oversee allocated budgets, including casual labour, agency spending, uniform, recruitment, and accommodation, highlighting overspending at an early stage and making recommendations for efficiencies, savings, and cost-effectiveness
Monitor and authorise weekly payroll submissions, validating payments and deductions, and ensuring accuracy
Take into consideration sustainable solutions and best practices to ensure we take responsibility for reducing our impact on the environment and support the companywide sustainability strategy
Required Experience:

Considerable experience (minimum 3 years) in a dynamic and fast-paced recruitment or staffing/event management role
Desirable Experience:

Previous experience working in a front-of-house environment and providing administrative support
Previous experience using Sage 50 Accounts
Required Skills:

Good working knowledge of employment law relating to recruitment practices
Knowledge and understanding of the Working Time Regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and manage strong supplier relationships and key stakeholders
Evidence of effective management, leading, coaching, and mentoring a large team
Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
Commercial acumen with experience in managing budgets and working on KPI's
Fully competent user of ICT, including MS Office and databases
UK driving licence and the ability to travel to events in the UK and occasional international travel
Desirable Skills:

Competent using Publisher
An aptitude for ICT and confidence in dealing with printer/copier issues
Current first aid qualification
Current fire marshal qualification
