Locum SEN & Education Lawyer – Predominantly Remote Working – up to £60 per hour Outside IR35 – 3 Months –  Midlands

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an established Local Authority in Midlands who are recruiting for a Locum SEN & Education Lawyer to join their department.

The role will be preformed on a predominantly remote basis with occasional office presence required. Our client is ideally seeking someone to take on the position on a full-time basis however, candidates with part-time availability may also be considered if they possess the relevant experience.

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with Local Government experience with solid understanding of a wide range of Education and SEND matters.

Previous experience needed includes:
• Carry a caseload of Tribunal meets whilst also providing support to junior members of staff within the team
• Knowledge of and ability to apply and interpret SEN and Education Law
• Knowledge of SEN court and Tribunal procedures
• Knowledge of Local Government law, especially in relation to Education law, Judicial Review and FOI/DPA
• Experience of conducting case files, drafting pleadings and witness statements
• Ability to conduct legal research, interpret legislation and summarise the key points of case law

An attractive rate is on offer of up to £60 per hour Outside IR35 dependent on individual experience.
