Lead Electrician - Commercial Solar Projects

Workable locations of residence for this vacancy: Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire/East Yorkshire/NE Lincolnshire

Salary: Competitive salary + van + quarterly bonus + sickness pay scheme + good accommodation when required to work away + meal allowance and £25.00 working away allowance per night + DIS and Healthcare scheme available to opt into

Monday to Friday (if working away travel to site on Monday and return home on Fridays)

Prosper Recruitment is working in partnership with a new client who are dedicated to providing innovative renewable energy solutions with a primary focus on solar power. Established to support the transition to clean energy, the company specialises in designing, manufacturing, and installing high-quality solar panels and energy storage systems for residential, commercial, and agricultural applications. Due to growth this company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrician to join and lead its fast-growing team. The successful candidate must be ambitious and keen to establish themselves as a senior electrician within the company that delivers a substantial number of commercial and domestic Solar PV installations each year.

The Lead Solar PV Electrician will form part of the management team at an already well-established renewable energy business and will be expected to lead on the delivery of the day to day commercial Solar PV installations. The successful candidate will report to the Site Manager and will be expected to lead and mentor a team of 3 less experienced and newly qualified electricians.

This role would suit someone who has a ideally has a good understanding of Solar PV and will be expected to have led a small electrical installation teams, Lead electrician's from a strong commercial background without Solar Installation experience may also be considered.

Most of the work will be on commercial property, although there is also a small number of domestic installations each year as well as domestic and larger commercial battery installation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Forming a key part of the project and operations management function as well as being involved and advising on technical design and purchasing decisions
Ongoing training and recruitment of the electrical team, as necessary
Ensure that all sites comply with all health & safety legislation
Liaise with Office team regarding materials and logistics of undertaking the work.
Ensure jobs are completed and resolve any issues relating to the installation prior to handover, ensuring they meet our required quality standards.
Inspect completed installations and troubleshoot any problems
Communicate effectively with customers and address any questions
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Comply with all company policies and procedures and drive continual improvement of our standards
This is a hands-on role and some 'pitching-in' to get work completed to deadlines will be necessary.
Most of the time will be spent on our sites which are across the UK.Requirements:

Essential:

Minimum of 3 years of experience
Qualified 18th Edition
Commercially strong with experience of leading a small team of installation electricians and a practical problem solver.
Higher-level electrical qualifications (Level 3 NVQ, HNC/HND); AM2 and Inspection and Testing.
Excellent IT skills and understanding of connecting PV and battery systems for web monitoring.Desirable:

ECS Card with additional safety qualifications for working at heights, confined spaces, etc.
Experience with popular solar PV brands and equipment used in the UK, ideally including SolarEdge Additional Skills:

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Time management and organisational skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Valid driving licence.Benefits:
