About the Role:

A welcoming primary school in Selly Oak is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a temporary position with an immediate start, ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in a child's learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide focused 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, helping them to engage with the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.

* Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored education plans that meet the pupil's individual needs.

* Support the pupil in their social, emotional, and academic development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning experience.

* Assist with personal care needs if required and help manage behaviour in a nurturing manner.

* Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the child.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or SEN-specific qualifications).

* Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a 1:1 or small group setting.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and specialists.

* A patient, understanding, and positive approach to working with children.

* A commitment to ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Desirable:

* Experience working in a primary school environment.

* Additional training or experience in specific SEN areas (e.g., Autism, ADHD, or Speech and Language difficulties).
