Are you looking for a superb opportunity to work in a beautiful school set in 56 acres of wooded ground with plenty of space for recreational and creative activities. You would be making a positive impact on students learning who have a range of academic abilities and Complex Needs aged between 7-19 years old? We are currently looking for a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to work at one of the most well-known and highly regarded special SEN schools in the Surrey area with wonderful opportunities within the SENCO educational sector.

The superb position is due to start ASAP, and would be either on a 12-week temp to perm basis, or on ongoing contract basis - working Monday to Thursday 8:30 to 16:30 term time only.

Your main duties will include:

* You will be providing emotional support with your small group of SEN students to help them on their learning and discovery journey within education

* Escort various students that have been assigned to you with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities to their classes each day. So that they are in a supportive and inclusive classroom environment so they can reach their full learning potential

* Maintain and keep accurate records fully up to date with their daily achievements

* Documenting daily observations

* Maintain daily administration by keeping their EHCP fully updated to ensure all staff and SLT are fully up to date on each student. Our supportive school prides itself on the intricate details that are known about each student giving them the best support so that they can flourish on their journey into their next step into higher education

* Give daily support with academic, sporting and outdoor activities by helping SEN students to implement independent methods, to support them with their coping mechanisms to solve their day to day personal and social tasks

* Always maintain Speech and Language Communication and install confidence in each student.

* Engage with parents/guardians to build healthy relationships on a daily and or weekly basis with either face to face meetings or phone calls

The suitable candidate will have:

* GCSE or equivalent is essential, band NVQ Level 2 is advantageous but not essential.

* Driving license is desirable.

* Previous experience of working within a SEN Teaching assistant environment especially with students from 7-19 years old with special needs would be advantageous.

* Patience and a consistent attitude is essential to giving the students the best level of support and care.

* Have a high level of emotional and physical strength to deal with the changing environments of students with special needs. Plus, a good sense of humour to keep the students happy and motivated in their learning environment.

* A calm and reassuring manner to give the students is essential.

* Have a strong and comprehensive knowledge of Compliance and Safeguarding procedures.

* IT and admin support to teachers.

* A can-do attitude is important and to hit the ground running in our special school.

* Relevant qualifications and or training in Special Educational and related fields are advantageous but not essential.
