Attendance Officer

Location: Chesterfield, S41

£110-£125

Days: Monday - Friday, Term Time Only

Role Purpose: responsible for monitoring student attendance, identifying and addressing patterns of non-attendance, and working closely with students, parents, and staff to promote regular and punctual attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and record student attendance, following up on absences and communicating with parents and carers as necessary
Identify patterns of non-attendance and work with students and their families to address underlying issues
Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to support students with attendance and welfare concerns
Maintain accurate records and produce reports on attendance and welfare issues
Provide guidance and support to students on welfare-related matters, signposting to relevant external agencies where necessary
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve attendance and promote student well-being
Liaise with external agencies and organizations to support students' welfare needs Key Requirements:

Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
Strong understanding of attendance and welfare issues affecting young people
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff
Ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports
Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance relating to attendance and welfare
A caring and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting the well-being of young people
