We are looking to recruit an exceptional Sales Assistant to work as part of the Cathedral shop team supporting St Paul’s Cathedral Enterprises, the trading subsidiary of this iconic central London landmark. This is a casual role, working on an as and when required basis.

As well as serving our visitors and customers by providing exceptional customer care and assistance/information, you will help in the day-to-day operational activities of the Cathedral Shop. This involves operating the tills and handling cash and stock.

To be effective in the role you’ll have excellent customer service skills, ideally gained in a visitor-facing role in a busy environment.

We would love for you to apply if you have:

• experience in a retail environment
• experience in cash-handling and computerised systems, in particular tills
• confident and clear communication skills, both written and verbal

The icing on the cake would be advanced skills in a language other than English to engage with our visitors from across the globe.

The Cathedral serves as a place of worship, a centre of learning and a visitor attraction 365 days a year.

As a casual Sales Assistant, the shifts are generally from 8.30 am to 5.15 pm Monday to Saturday, with some shifts on Sunday. Days rostered may be any day of the week from Monday to Sunday, including Bank Holidays. An unpaid lunch break of one hour is provided.
