We are excited to offer an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our client’s dynamic team in London. This role provides a fantastic chance to be part of a growing finance department, where you will assist in preparing monthly management accounts and collaborate closely with the Finance Director.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant include but not limited to: - Journal entries
- Monthly reconciliations
- Accruals/prepayments
- Run the monthly accounting timetable
- Early/End Monthly Reporting
- Consolidated accounts
- VAT returns
- Maintaining fixed asset register/depreciation
- Aged payables/receivables
- Liaising with 3rd parties re retro’s, rates, CIS, turnover rent, payroll
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations & standards
- Assisting with annual budget preparation
- Assisting with statutory audit
- Working closely with the FD
The successful Assistant Accountant will require the following skills and experience: - Part-qualified or working towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
