Hays Education are proud to be working exclusively with avibrant academy setting on the outskirts of Sheffield. Recently becoming partof a successful multi-academy trust, this school is on an upward trajectorytherefore it is an incredibly exciting time to be joining them. Due to Maternity leave, the school are looking for a long term member of staff to jointheir thriving humanities department.This vacancy is for a teacher of Geography and/or History whowill demonstrate a level of flexibility with their teaching. The school wouldalso be open to speaking to a teacher of RE and have flexibility to alter thetimetable in place. You would be delivering lessons across both key stage threeand four to various ability levels. The school are ideally looking for someonewho is a passionate practitioner with a "can do" attitude,comfortable with a creative approach and the ability to think on their feet.Planning and marking will be a part of this role, therefore this should besomething you are comfortable with.As well as delivering lessons, you would also be required tokeep track of students' progress and provide a positive environment for them toprogress, whilst also engaging with other faculty members to maintain standardswithin the school. The role would be full time, working five days a week termtime on a temporary basis. There may be scope for this to be extended past theinitial first term.Theideal candidate for this role would have;

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an ECT working towards QTS
  • Good computer literacy
  • Confidence in delivering strong lessons to large groups
  • Enthusiasm for their subject and strong subject knowledge
  • Good communication, team work and organisational skills
  • Experience teaching up to KS4
