Safeguarding Officer

Location: Aylesbury
Type: Full time, TERM-TIME ONLY
Reporting to: Head of Safeguarding
Salary: £31k FTE (£26k pro-rata)

Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Aylesbury.

Role Purpose

Serve as a key contact for safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
Provide advice and guidance on safeguarding and Prevent initiatives to students.
Oversee safeguarding efforts for students in community-based courses.

Responsibilities

Offer advice and support to staff, students, and others regarding safeguarding concerns.
Collaborate with external agencies to support student safety and well-being.
Track and document safeguarding cases, ensuring compliance with laws and standards.
Lead the referral process for safeguarding and Prevent concerns to appropriate agencies.
Build and maintain relationships with local support organisations.
Deliver safeguarding training, covering topics like online safety and child protection issues.

Requirements

Relevant experience
Experience working with young people.
Ability to handle sensitive issues confidentially.
Great numeracy and literacy skills Able to work independently or in a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
