We are seeking a Tax Senior with relevant tax experience to manage and maintain their own portfolio of personal tax clients. This role is primarily compliance-focused, with opportunities to develop advisory skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards and timely completion of work within their portfolio.
Day to Day of the Role: - Serve as the main point of contact for personal tax clients throughout the year.
- Plan and organise your own portfolio, allocating work and resources as required.
- Monitor the progress of all returns to ensure they are completed efficiently, on budget, and meet client expectations.
- Prepare letters of engagement for new clients and final billing for director or partner review.
- Examine explanations of variance from budget and assist with all aspects of personal tax compliance.
- Prepare and submit 60-day CGT returns and manage client relationships with HMRC.
- Prepare accounts for sole traders and partnerships, escalating queries to specialists within the wider team when necessary.
- Communicate openly with directors and partners regarding future work and relevant matters.
- Assist the team with the provision of UK Tax advice to clients and potentially assist in a range of tax compliance areas.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - ACA, ACCA, CTA/CIOT qualification, or ATT qualified with a minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience in tax.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for activities, escalating matters when required.
- Strong communication skills with both colleagues and clients.
- Focus on solutions and an appetite for progression and development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, with strong analytical and information gathering skills.
- Commercial approach to portfolio management.
