An opportunity for a Senior Administrator has arisen with the local authorities on a 6 Month contract

Pay Rate: £18.00 Per Hour (PAYE)

Location: GU2 4BB,

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Typical involvement will include:

Guildford Borough Council seeks a highly organized administrator with a keen interest in finance, providing effective support across financial functions. Skilled in managing service requests, maintaining finance systems, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering high-quality
administrative support.Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily and historic suspense account clearing
Downloading and reviewing the previous day's bank statements
Process tells us once notifications
Review and respond to transfers enquiries
Open and sort post
Set up Direct Debits
Investigation and resolution of unpaid Direct Debits
Manage recurring invoices (monthly, quarterly, annual) and subscriptions
Debt Recovery - issuing letters
Identify write offs
Setup payment plans
Manage and approve customer amendments/new customers
Review and respond to internal & external inquiries
Council Tax refunds
Processing refunds
Load manual payments
Support with the payment runs
Process general purchasing requests
Bank Account Monitoring income allocations
Card Payments Reconciliation
Process card payment chargebacks
Review banking queries
Escalate of reconciliation issues to the Finance Specialists
Bank Statement Analysis
Carry out any additional duties or functions as may be requested by managementQualifications and Experience:

NVQ Level II Business Administration OR Customer Service OR three years' relevant administration experience
Previous administrative experience is advantageous.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant administrative or office-related qualifications are a plus.
