Our client is looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead and deliver conservation programme objectives. The Programme Manager will oversee the development and implementation of strategic projects, managing cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The role requires a proactive leader with extensive project management experience, particularly in conservation or natural resource management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, allocate resources, and manage budgets according to strategic priorities.
- Contribute to organizational strategic planning and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams, fostering innovation and professional development within the team.
- Compile and manage annual operations plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and risk minimization.
- Oversee financial management, approve transactions, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and assess project progress and impact.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with partners, stakeholders, traditional leaders, and donors.
- Oversee the recruitment, management, and performance of programme staff.
- Provide support to the Conservation Director on project and programme-related matters.

- Strong understanding of conservation priorities and programmes, particularly in Zambia or Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages, such as German, is an advantage.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Environmental Studies, Conservation, or a related field. An additional qualification in Business Management or similar is advantageous.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role focused on Protected Area Management or similar.
