We are seeking a dedicated Plumbing Course Team Leader to join this colleges Construction School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of programmes in Plumbing and managing the curriculum for plumbing, gas, and multi-skills provision. This role includes curriculum development, quality assurance, and coordination of Work-Based Learning (WBL) within the area.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Teach across various programmes in Plumbing, ensuring effective curriculum management.
  • Organise and develop the curriculum, making optimal use of team resources.
  • Drive enrolment, retention, achievement, and attendance to maximise funding and income.
  • Liaise with College staff, external bodies, and employers to enhance the educational experience.
  • Participate in recruitment activities, providing accurate information and guidance to potential students.
  • Design and deliver engaging and effective teaching programmes, utilising IT and learning technology.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback.
  • Manage and support WBL learners, ensuring their success and progression.
  • Contribute to the marketing of courses and promotional events to attract new students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Level 3 qualification in Plumbing.
  • Unvented Hot Water and Water Regulations Certifications.
  • Assessor qualification (A1 or equivalent).
  • Minimum Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g., DET) or willingness to achieve this, supported by the College.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ successful teaching experience in Plumbing.
  • Experience in curriculum development and quality systems implementation.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise a team.
  • Background in the Plumbing industry.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and IT skills.
  • Ability to embed Maths, English, and ICT within the curriculum.
