Job Title: Finance and Payroll Officer
Grade: Scale Points 18-22 (£24,768-£26,352 actual salary)
Hours / Weeks: 30 hours per week / 41 weeks per year (Term Time Only+ 2 weeks)
Reports to:Strategic Director of Finance
Purpose of the Job: To support the Finance Team in the administration of the school’s payroll and finances.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll
- To prepare and submit the monthly payroll file, liaising with the external payroll provider where required
- To be the key point of contact for Teacher’s Pensions and Local Government Pensions, ensuring the completion of all monthly reports and that individual pension queries are dealt with in a timely manner
- To support in administration of Pension Auto-Enrolments and EOYC
- To update salary lists for teachers and admin/support statements
- To resolve any pay queries and liaise with the third party payroll service
- To complete the School Workforce Census
- To update staffing records on the school MIS system
Finance
- To ensure receipt, safekeeping and banking of all money received by the school
- To ensure that invoices for lettings and other services are issued in a timely manner
- To post monthly Petty Cash reconciliations
- To take payments via the School’s credit card facility
- To complete Estimated Income and Expenditure pro forma with trip leader
- To finalise Income and Expenditure pro forma with trip leader
- To manage income and trips software ledger
- To set up all payment schedules on Parentpay to include school trips, music tuition, equipment and ticket purchases, cashless catering etc
- To deal with parental queries in regard to their use of, and payments to Parentpay
- To issue new parents with login information on Parentpay
- To administer Household childcare vouchers
- To be responsible for Amazon account administration
- To prepare monthly budget reports for all budget holders
- To update the school asset register regularly
