We are currently recruiting for the following permanent role in Devon.

Required: Mechanical Project Engineer (Building Services)

Salary: £40k - £55k depending on experience

1st Project: 12-18mths work on a new MoJ contract near Newton Abbot (TQ12) - New warehouses, workshops, plant rooms, garages etc. The new M&E services are valued at circa £15m.

This is working for a regional and national M&E Building Services Contractor who have been established for over 70yrs working across construction sectors including Leisure & Retail, Commercial & Industrial, Healthcare, Education, Defence and Custodial; turning over circa £140m a year.

Job Role:

Working closely with the mechanical lead on a new government project in South Devon; duties will include:
Liaison/meetings with clients, supply chain, the delivery teams and management.
Health & Safety management with support from the QHSE manager.
Attending internal CVR/progress meetings.
Financial management of projects, including procurement and assisting with costings.
Specification and ordering of materials.
Preparation of method statements and risk assessments.
Management and briefing of installation personnel.
Resolving installation and access issues.
Completion and submission of as-installed documentation.
Programme and project planning.
Collate all design documents and drawings, also attending project handover meetings.
Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and prepare coordinated drawings covering all installation aspects.
Review project design specifications and drawings, ensuring coordinated drawings and technical submittals meet standards.

Process requisitions, generate purchase orders, and verify the receipt of equipment and materials on site.
Clarify design queries through the request for information (RFI) system.
As the ideal Mechanical Project Engineer, you will have worked for another M&E subcontractor before and will have a strong mechanical background.

You will have either SMSTS and/or SSSTS. Along with relevant industry qualification and experience, you will have experience in the full Mechanical package.
