Buyer - Structural Steel

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (Dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established structural steel contractor, who is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their team based in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in procurement within the structural steel or construction industry to take a key role in managing supplier relationships and ensuring timely delivery of materials across a variety of exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procuring structural steel, consumables, and associated materials in line with project requirements

• Negotiating prices, lead times, and terms with suppliers to secure the best value

• Raising and managing purchase orders, monitoring delivery progress

• Liaising with internal teams including estimating, design, and site to coordinate material requirements

• Maintaining supplier records and evaluating supplier performance

• Ensuring compliance with internal processes and industry standards

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a buying/procurement role within structural steel or construction

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines efficiently

• Good working knowledge of procurement systems and Microsoft Office

• A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work

Salary & Benefits:

• £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
