We are seeking an ACA or ACCA qualified Manager with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice firm to support a diverse range of clients, primarily within the music industry. This role involves managing a portfolio of high-profile artists, record labels, artist management companies, publishers, and charities, and requires a candidate with excellent personal and corporate tax knowledge.
Day-to-day of the role: - Supervise and develop a team of trainees and bookkeepers.
- Manage client relationships, overseeing the business management and accountancy for a portfolio of 20+ clients.
- Handle all aspects of clients’ financial and personal affairs, including tour scheduling and international withholding tax mitigation.
- Oversee bookkeeping to ensure accounts are accurately prepared to trial balance.
- Review quarterly VAT returns and monthly/year-end payroll, including form P11D.
- Work on overseas VAT mitigation and recovery of foreign VAT.
- Review royalty accounting and prepare detailed royalty analyses.
- Prepare financial information, including variance analysis and net asset statements for high-net-worth individuals.
- Report on US quarterly tax and management accounts, liaising with overseas firms.
- Collaborate closely with the Accounts & Tax Department to prepare year-end accounts & tax returns.
- Manage business administration matters, such as bank accounts and payment processing.
- Oversee touring activities, including tour reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis in various currencies.
- Handle billing for your portfolio, including review of client WIP, client queries, and chasing debtors.
- Participate in staff appraisals and provide feedback.
- Represent the firm at music industry events.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - ACA or ACCA qualification.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice firm.
- Proficiency in accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or ideally Twinfield.
- Previous experience with media clients is preferable.
- Strong personal and corporate tax knowledge.
