Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00/Hybrid
£35,000-£39,000/DOE basic salary + Highly competitive benefits package including quarterly company bonuses, hybrid working and additional annual leave.

We are delighted to be looking after this fantastic opportunity for our award-winning Ipswich based client who are seeking an experienced Purchasing Supervisor to join their busy team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the emphasis of the role will be to work with existing team members to build key skills and to improve current processes. This team focused position will involve resolving daily challenges, building and maintaining supplier relationships and helping to build the future purchasing team within this dynamic and thriving business. Outline of Role
Supervising a team of co-ordinators, ensuring high levels of efficient workload are achieved, continuous process improvement and management of supplier relations. You will need to be highly organised and motivated with the mind set and dedication to deliver and maintain high standards taking responsibility for leading the current team to the next level of procurement excellence!
* Take accountability for the team and its output - managing day to day workload within agreed KPI's in line with growing business demands.
* Empowering the team to take ownership of their roles/responsibilities
* Managing supplier relationships and performance.
* Demand planning, working with external sales team and suppliers to provide forecasting.
* Supplier lead time and pricing reviews providing relevant internal updates.
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and conducting internal process auditing.
* Data presentation of monthly spend, KPI, non-conformance tracking.
* Ensure compliance with industry and company standards in all procurement activities.
* Support with the recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.
Experience/Skill Required
* Experienced in a Purchasing/Buyer role. CIPS level 4 qualified (desirable) or willing to undertake.
* Supervisory and team leadership experience including; team coaching, supplier relationship and performance development experience.
* Develop and maintain commercial awareness, internally and industry wide.
* Good understanding of supply chain procedures and ERP knowledge.
* Ability to work within a fast-paced environment with proven experience of working to deadlines.
* Analytical skills, with strong problem-solving ability and excellent attention to detail.
* Advanced level of Computer literacy - Microsoft Excel/Word/Access.
* Strong administration and negotiation skills.
* Diplomatic, detail oriented, pro-active approach to workload and team management.
Excellent communication skills, the ability to problem solve and seek solutions is essential. As an individual you will be familiar with supply chain procedures and be able to confidently interact with suppliers, clients, and external and internal departments. The ideal candidate will have strong purchasing and supervisory experience and will be looking to develop both themselves and their team members.

This role is being offered on a permanent basis. Hybrid working will be available for the postholder once you've settled into your new position, hybrid working arrangements are based on 2 days working from home with 3 days being office based.
