A national travel company are searching for a Cyber Security Engineer to become an integral part of the internal security team. This role is vital in maintaining the integrity and resilience of the IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks, including incident investigation, security project management, and providing advisory services.

This year's projects will range from cyber security modernisation to full SDWAN/ Palo Alto upgrades and a focus on IAM. This is a great year to join the team from a transformation perspective, you will have the opportunity to put your stamp on national cyber infrastructure.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Deploy and optimise security solutions to protect IT services and infrastructure.
  • Conduct security assessments, including vulnerability testing and risk analysis.
  • Design and enforce security controls to address identified requirements and strengthen existing structures.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents with rapid and effective action.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive incident response plans.
  • Manage operational security processes with tools such as SIEM, EDR, and Vulnerability Management.
  • Operate advanced security tools like firewalls and IDS/IPS to maintain network integrity.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in security implementation and management.
  • Proficiency in threat detection and response, with experience using SIEM, EDR, and Vulnerability Management tools.
  • Experience With Microsoft Defender, Endpoint and Azure Sentinel specifically
  • Experience in securing cloud services and enterprise applications, with a focus on IAM.
  • Experience with network tools and concepts such as SD Wan and Palo Alto
  • In-depth knowledge of network and system security, including the operation of firewalls and IDS/IPS.
  • Understanding of compliance standards, including ISO27001, NIST, and GDPR.
  • Experience in supporting audit processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
