An international leading defence business are currently recruiting for a Materials Programme / Supply Chain Programme Manager a fulltime permanent basis in the Greater London area OR Buckinghamshire (hybrid working arrangements).

Key responsibilities for Material Programme Manager / Supply Chain Programme Manager job role and not limited to:
- Developing and execute material programme plans, subcontract management plans (together with Supply Chain team)
- Strategic thinking with tactical application of those strategies to programmes.
- Accountable for developing material strategies
- Developing and leading Planning related proposal activities including task descriptions and bases of estimates
- In conjunction with engineering, you will develop accurate Bill of Materials (BOM's) from the technical baseline within a few days of proposal kick off, control changes in the BOM during the proposal process and promptly flow any changes to material estimating and develop a strategy to get representative costs
- Develop accurate Materials Estimates
- Partnering with Programmes and Engineering to navigate obsolescence, long lead and last time buy material situations to ensure programme schedules are met
- Actively engaging in proposals
- Accountable for applying material strategy to bids and proposal
- Managing material actual cost vs should cost
- Accountable for decision making in the make/buy/where process
- Developing and execute risk/opportunity plans to meet programme objectives
- Collaborating with supply chain functions for support as needed.
- Developing and Monitoring performance metrics and proactively acts to address programme and functional issues
Key skills required for the Material Programme Manager / Supply Chain Programme Manager job applicant and not limited to:
- Experience managing to a budget
- Experience collaborating with the Subcontract Manager to review statements of work (SOW) that are complete and conform to programme requirements.
- Experience in electronics/aerospace hardware applications as well as knowledge of operational and manufacturing processes (assembly, integration, and test)
- Experience converting business area and customer requirements into executable strategies
- Experience leading in an Integrated Programme Team (IPT) environment
- Knowledge of Defence contracting
