About the Role:
As Group Financial Controller, you will oversee the financial health of the company, ensuring efficient financial management to support its strategic goals. You’ll be part of a national team of finance professionals spread across multiple locations, working in a hybrid environment. In this key leadership role, you’ll manage and mentor a team of two Management Accountants, playing a crucial role in shaping the company’s future and its contribution to the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a finance team across multiple locations
- Provide financial leadership and support to the CFO and senior management
- Oversee the preparation of group financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Drive strategic business growth by collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Manage cash flow, optimise working capital, and oversee financial operations (accounting, treasury, and tax)
- Ensure full compliance with UK GAAP and other financial regulations
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as banks and investors
- Provide hands-on support to the finance team in a fast-paced environment
- Promote a collaborative, positive team culture while fostering professional development
What You’ll Need:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- 3-4 years of post-qualified experience in a finance role (energy industry experience not required)
- Strong financial analysis and Excel skills (e.g., V-lookups, SUMIF)
- High emotional intelligence, with excellent communication and leadership skills
- Eligibility to work in the UK
