Job Opportunity: Field Service Engineer**Grays, Essex, door-to-door pay
We need a Field Service Engineer to join our busy depot in Grays, Essex, door-to-door pay, A full UK driving licence is required.
Our company specializes in both long- and short-term temporary power hire, featuring a fleet of low-emission, super-silent, and ultra-quiet generators. In this role, you will mainly be field-based, with door-to-door pay for travel to various sites.
We are looking for skilled candidates with cross-industry experience, particularly those holding an NVQ in Plant Maintenance or a similar qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in the generator or plant hire industry is a plus.
The ideal candidate will efficiently prioritize workloads to complete weekly service schedules for generators on time. Relevant backgrounds should include Diesel Engineer, mechanic, or engine technician, as well as qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or HGV maintenance. Experience in Plant & Tool Hire is also highly valued.
**Responsibilities:**
* Attend sites for servicing, fault finding, and repairs on generators and accompanying equipment.
* When not on the road, work out of our Grays Depot to service, inspect, and repair equipment ready for dispatch.
* Perform fault finding, including control panels, AC/DC electrical systems, and mechanical and electrical repairs.
The pay rate ranges from £16.00 to £17.25 per hour, depending on experience, with a standard working week of 39 hours. There are also opportunities to earn additional income through overtime, which can amount to approximately 10-15 extra hours per week, depending on the workload. Overtime is paid at either time and a half or double pay, depending on the times and days worked.
Working Hours, - Monday to Thursday: 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Friday: 8 AM to 3:30 PM
On-call rota work is available, offering £100 for the week, plus a minimum of 4 hours of overtime for any calls received.25 days of paid annual leave, plus Bank Holidays, A company van will be provided for travel to and from sites, which can also be used for personal miles.
