Salary: £51,000/annum + performance bonuses + health care plan, pension - Starting salary. With scope for further increases in the future. (this is negotiable depending on experience)

We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious home manager to work alongside our leadership team, at a residential children's home based in South Manchester. This particular home will house up to 2 children with social and emotion needs, who may exhibit challenging behaviours.

Whether you are deputy manager looking to step up or have experience as a current manager, this is a very exciting opportunity to be a part of a brand-new home and build a loving and caring environment for the children.

You will be required to register as manager through Ofsted and complete the full application.

The Trust offers specialised long-term residential care for children up to the age of 18 years with social, emotion and mental health issues.

Your Rolls & Responsibilities:

  • The manager of the home will work directly with the responsible individual and director to run the home as a cohesive team.
  • You will actively promote tolerance, equality, and diversity, and challenge any discriminatory behaviours.
  • You must ensure that the children and young people's safety and well-being is appropriately protected at all times.
  • Working with your deputy to update care plans, behaviour plans and risk assessments for all residents at the home.
  • You must have and maintain a good working knowledge of the Ofsted policies and procedure, as well as the children's home inspection framework, which can be found on the government website.
  • Have a real passion for supporting children with Autism and Learning Difficulties, as the trust are looking for someone who shares their vision.
  • Manage relationships with local authorities to ensure that the right children and being supported at the home.

Requirements:

  • In order to qualify as a registered manager, you must have completed your level 3 NVQ in residential support, as well as be willing to undertake, completed or have started your level 5 NVQ in management and leadership.
  • Good working knowledge of child-centred practice and positive behaviour support.
  • You must have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service. If you do not currently have a DBS, then we can help with your application for a new DBS.
  • At least 2 years in the last 5 years working in a residential children's home.
  • Prior experience working with children with challenging behaviours and emotional needs.
  • At least 1 year experience in a managerial role (deputy manager or manager) ideally in a residential SEND setting.
  • You will be subject to all relevant checks to comply with safer recruitment guidelines and provide all relevant documentation.
  • Provide a CV with a full history with an explanation for all gaps.
