Red Rock Partnership Limited are delighted to be working with our prestigious client in Sherburn in Elmet who are looking for Mechanical Engineers to join their busy team.

About the Business:

Our client is confectionery and bakery Company supplying hundreds of food businesses worldwide.

About The Role:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide maintenance and breakdown support to the factory on a shift rotation, Monday to Friday, 6-2pm and 2-10pm, with on call cover for evenings and weekends on a rota basis, as required.

Salary: £40,000 per annum + additional payments for being on call.

You will receive a flat payment of £325 a month (£3,900 a year) to be on-call 1 week in every 3.

This works out at £225 for every week you are on call as follows:

* Mid week on call at £25 to cover night shift 1 week in 3

* Weekend on call at £50 per 24hour period 1 week in 3 (only if the company are running overtime and they would know the shift times in advance)

If you are called out, you will receive:

* Mid week night shift - Paid x 1.5 for overtime carried out on site, minimum 1 hour payment (plus 30 mins travel time)

* Weekend 24 hour period - Paid x 2.0 rate for overtime carried out on site, minimum 1 hour payment (plus 30 mins travel time)

Roles and Responsibilities:

* To provide an efficient breakdown response service as and when required, in order to minimise downtime and maximise output, Quality, and Safety.

* To help implement an effective Preventative Maintenance system in line with schedules and availability of equipment and plant access.

* In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, to participate in agreed rotas to ensure sufficient Engineering cover is provided on site, at the time it is required.

* To acknowledge and be aware of the environmental impact of the Operational processes and to minimise this impact (waste, emissions, contamination, loss etc.) whenever practical.

* To complete paperwork records and electronic records relating to work assignments, PPM's, and work requests as they are requested and/or completed in a timely manner

* To utilise the Sage 200 system in order to place orders for spares, repairs, services, equipment, etc., as required or requested.

* To supervise the more junior Engineering team members.

About you:

Our client is looking for someone who has qualified through a Mechanical apprenticeship route and gained experience from working in a manufacturing environment (preferably within food manufacturing) with a keen eye for detail. Qualifications held to a HNC/HND level, in welding and/or on in 18th edition electrical wiring regulations would be desirable
