Wednesday to Sunday / Thursday to Monday

9am - 6pm

***We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy transport office with our client based in Stafford. You must hold strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure***

The Transport Planner will be responsible for:

• Daily route planning for the company’s and it’s subcontractors’ HGVs.
• Ensuring vehicles are running to capacity to minimize empty miles.
• Track the status of orders in the transport system and communicate collection times, issues and solutions to customers.
• Processing customers’ orders.
• Promoting the highest level of customer care.
• Developing and maintaining good working relationships with customers.
• Effective time management to ensure the job is completed within the set time frame.

Experience of Transport Planner must have:

• Previous experience in an operational role within a logistics or haulage business for one year or more.
• Experience in planning multiple delivery schedules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• An understanding of compliance and safe-working practices within the transport industry.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, Word, Excel etc.
• Experience using Tachomaster and Mandata software packages is desirable.
• The ability to work under pressure within a busy transport office.
• Self-motivation, being able to prioritise work and meet deadlines, as well as an excellent telephone manner.
