We are seeking an experienced, dedicated Quality Control Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Operations manager, you will maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, finished products, and recording the results. Excellent communication skills are a must, as well as keen attention to detail.

Duties:

  • Be responsible for Quality, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
  • Efficiency and productivity of the plant, on-going improvement
  • Manage maintenance of the plant
  • Continuous improvement of production
  • Training of staff, setters and operators
  • Facilitate that all departments work efficiently and productively together
  • Advise management on engineering projects and new moulds
  • Make sure production runs smoothly and on time.
  • Project & Deliverables Management
  • Sales & Financial Forecasting & Projections
  • New Client Acquisition & Existing Client Maintenance
  • Streamlining Throughput & Accelerated Turnaround Time
  • Management of Staff & Human Resources - Leave, Working Hours, & Personal Enhancement Programs
  • Drafting of Standard Operating Procedures, Quality System Integration, & Procurement
  • Cost Analyses & Pricing Determination

 Quality Control Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain a new QC system
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
  • Approve in-process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the production supervisor
  • Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests
  • Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work
  • Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs
  • Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Matric plus a minimum of 2 years experience in Quality Control
  • Own transport
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures
