Youth Worker (Residential, SEMH)

We are seeking a Youth Worker for our school, a mixed independent residential special school for children aged 9 -18 who receive an EHCP because they experience a range of social, emotional, and mental health difficulties or other associated difficulties.

The school is expanding our school and looking for youth workers who will:

have the desire to make a difference and a passion to support children and young people to achieve their dreams.

like to have fun and enjoy the company of children and young people.

be enthusiastic, committed, and motivated to work as part of a dedicated team.

Responsibilities in this role include:

Working and supporting children and young people to create positive outcomes and promote independence.

Direct practical interactions with children and young people including activities, cooking, and engaging with the wider community.

Planning and coordination of activities.

Working to a high standard in line with OFSTED inspection framework requirements.

Engage in planning, implementation, and delivery of care plans.

Working in partnership with other agencies.

Be strong with behaviour management

Report writing and attending reviews as required.

Starting Salary:

from £22,369.00 - £24'496 p.a.

Contract Type:

Straight to Perm.

Working Hours:

40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, term time only to include 3 evenings until 11 pm (excluding Friday) and 4 mornings. After 6 months, there will be up to three sleep-ins per week (bonus pay).

Experience is not essential, but a

Level 3 NVQ in Children in the Workforce

is hugely desirable and will affect the salary band you will start on. You must be a driver to apply due to the location and shift patterns of the residential.
