Product Governance Manager
Location: Central Manchester - Hybrid

Join a leading UK insurance provider as their Product Governance Manager, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that their products are not only fit for purpose but also provide exceptional value to customers while adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
Role Purpose:
As the Product Governance Manager, you will:
- Ensure adherence to the Product Governance Business Standard and Framework.
- Monitor that products meet the needs of customers, ensuring Fair Value, legal compliance, and regulatory expectations.
- Seek opportunities to enhance customer outcomes and improve product offerings.
- Support the development and delivery of new and existing products or services across Own Brands and Corporate Partner arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary Product Governance SME, providing expert guidance on product governance.
- Ensure product offerings meet customer requirements and adhere to the Product Governance Framework.
- Lead Product Reviews and Financial Value Assessments (FVAs), ensuring effective management of outcomes and actions.
- Oversee the analysis, interpretation, and management of FVA/PR documents from insurers and distributors.
- Take accountability for value and utility reporting, conducting analyses, and driving the implementation of actionable outcomes.
- Prepare key documentation such as the Product Governance Framework and lead Product Governance Internal Challenge sessions.
- Act as the go-to subject matter expert for enterprise-wide projects, ensuring effective stakeholder management.
- Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and product propositions while fostering strong relationships across the business.
- Provide line management to Product Executives, driving personal development, training, and performance management for both yourself and your team.
Skills & Experience:
Must Have:
- In-depth knowledge of insurance products.
- Understanding of the general insurance market, including evolving customer needs, technology, and regulation.
- A strong grasp of Product Governance and the regulatory environment in general insurance.
- Ability to critically evaluate information and communicate findings clearly.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple deliveries to meet deadlines.
- Chartered Insurance Institute qualification.
Preferred:
- Experience in people management, with a focus on developing talent and maintaining high performance.
