Mentoring and Employment Support Officer

£20 per hour (umbrella)

Full Time Contract (6 Months)

Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Mentoring and Employment Support Officer in Lewisham. This is a contract with a scope for extension working full time hours.

The job:

• A comprehensive, effective, integrated, systemically informed mentoring and employability service to support young people aged 16 to 24 who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET)
• To seek out and work with young residents who are furthest from the labour market and experiencing multiple forms of disadvantage and/or have significant additional support needs
• To adopt an empathetic and caring approach to help the young people develop their confidence and skills, ensuring each young person is consulted and empowered as the co-designer of their support plan.
• To work closely with local youth and community organisations

The candidate:

• Extensive knowledge of the current and developing national context in which Careers information advice and guidance for young adults (16-24 years old) sits
• Experience working in a similar role is essential
• Enhanced DBS is desirable
