The Role

We are currently recruiting for a paper machine installation supervisor on behalf of a leading industrial contractor. This contract role is based at a large-scale project in Shotton, where you will oversee the installation of paper machines and associated heavy industrial equipment. The position requires a strong technical background, hands-on leadership, and the ability to coordinate teams to ensure smooth installation processes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced supervisor with a background in paper machine installation to take on a key role in a high-profile project.

Responsibilities

* Overseeing the daily installation activities, ensuring work is completed to project specifications and quality standards.

* Managing manpower, subcontractors, equipment, and resources to maintain efficient workflow.

* Conducting regular quality inspections to ensure installation meets industry standards and identifying any necessary corrective actions.

* Providing technical expertise to resolve installation-related issues efficiently.

* Collaborating with engineers and technical teams to develop solutions for on-site challenges.

* Maintaining accurate documentation of installation activities, inspections, and testing reports for project handover.

* Ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

* Communicating project progress, challenges, and resolutions to engineers and management.

* Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep the project on track.

Requirements

* 3-5 years of experience in the installation of paper machines or similar heavy industrial equipment.

* Experience with Valmet paper machines is highly preferred.

* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme).

* NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferable.

* Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams effectively.

* Experience working on large industrial sites, ensuring safety and quality compliance.

* Valid CSCS card or equivalent site certification.
