We're currently on the lookout for a dedicated HR Assistant for our client based in York. This role is initally for 3 months but could extend. You will provide comprehensive HR, recruitment, and learning and development support to the business, encompassing the full employee lifecycle.

This role will report to the HR Services Team Leader, and you will be responsible for identifying and suggesting improvements to systems and processes to ensure efficient and effective HR operations, delivering excellent service to managers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain confidential HR records, including absence, changes, recruitment, and other information on the HR/Payroll system.
Add new starters to the HR/Payroll system and respond to candidate and manager queries.
Support the Payroll Team with absence and changes input, and manage holiday buying and selling processes.
Assist with team projects like annual pay awards, thank you vouchers, long service awards, and staff surveys.
Produce standard letters and documentation for contracts, changes, and leavers.
Process Occupational Health Referrals and support the absence management process.
Administer staff benefits and undertake routine administrative tasks.
Assist with Professional Development programs, including preparing materials, room set-up, and recording attendance.
Liaise with external training providers and support mandatory e-learning module completion.
Organise Corporate Induction days and answer general inquiries.
Ensure compliance with pre-recruitment checks and conduct regular data audits.
Maintain compliant staff files, both paper and electronic.
Act as the first point of contact for general inquiries and recommend HR process improvements.
Support staff communications and arrange meetings for HR colleagues and new starters.
Provide advice and guidance on policy and procedures for straightforward HR queries.Requirements:

CIPD Level 3 qualification.
Proven HR Administration experience.
Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility at all levels of the organization.
High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive HR information.The role offers a competitive salary of £27,600. You'll enjoy a workweek of 35 hours, working Monday through Friday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, with hybrid opportunities available
