Purpose of role

The responsibilities of the maintenance operator is to work towards the business priorities and ensure that the work rollers are chocked up and completed ready for production requirements. This involves de-chocking and chocking of the rolls and cleaning the bearings. Inspection of the bearings and reporting any findings to the area engineers.

Main responsibilities

Responsible for the Tandem Mill filter, oil cleanliness and oil quality. This involves:

* Filter paper changes

* Front line maintenance of the filter

* Monitoring of the filter stock

* Housekeeping of the area

* Collection of daily oil samples

* Oil additions to keep oil in specification

Essential skills

* Must be organised and understand how to work from a priority basis

* Self-motivating and conscientious

* A good understanding of maintenance techniques and using the correct tooling

* Good communication skills

* High level of housekeeping

* Good understanding of bearings and lubrication

* Basic computer skills

* Understand the principle of front-line maintenance

* FLT

* Overhead crane

* Good understanding of filtration units

Desirable skills

* Understanding of filtration units

* Mechanical techniques

Working Hours: A four shift pattern which includes four 12 hour days 6am- 6pm, followed by four rest days.

Salary Range: Competitive - depending on experience plus shift allowance
