Commissioning Placement and Alternative Provision Officer - West Berkshire Council - £36ph

Manage in conjunction with the on the long term strategic planning of the Council. Ensure

The Placement Officer will ensure that current placements in Independent Non-Maintained Schools or Alternative Provision commissioned, continue to meet the needs of the children and young people placed, are of high quality to deliver the outcomes required for each child or young person and also achieve value for money.

The Placement Officer will work in partnership with health and social care colleagues to ensure joint funding arrangements to support placements are in place when required.

The Placement Officer will revise and refresh QA processes and contract monitoring in place for Alternative Provision and Independent Non Maintained Special School placements.

Ensure robust mechanisms are in place to promote effective partnership working with a range of provider organizations. Identify and achieve efficiencies in commissioning and opportunities for cost savings by working closely with service areas and wider stakeholders.
