Speech and Language Teaching Assistant

LTF Recruitment are currently working with a warm and welcoming, OFSTED rated Outstanding School in the Islington area. Our partner school are eagerly seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant, or passionate Graduate, to provide 1:1 support to a young pupil in the school's Year 5 Class. The pupil has speech and communication difficulties, and limited language skills, so this would be a great role for a Teaching Assistant with Speech and Language experience or a Graduate eager to pursue a career in Speech and Language Therapy. This great opportunity is available to start in January and carry on for the entire academic year, with the potential of a permanent contract for the right candidate at the end.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 support to pupils with SEN in KS1
Supporting children with phonics and speech development
Leading individual and small group intervention sessions
Liaising with the SENCO and class teacher about the pupil's progress, keeping accurate reports regularly
Supporting the class teacher with managing class behaviourThe school are seeking candidates who:

Hold a relevant TA qualification or Degree
Have 1 years' experience supporting SEN
Speech and Language experience or training is desirable
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
