Are you an experienced maintenance engineer with a mechanical bias, looking for your next challenge in a thriving manufacturing environment? Our client, a leader in high-speed production, is seeking a dedicated professional to ensure their production machinery runs smoothly and efficiently. If you're skilled in fault finding, breakdown repairs, and have a keen eye for process improvements, this opportunity is ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of fast-moving production equipment.

* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, including issues with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and conveyors.

* Support production by minimising machine downtime and enhancing reliability through proactive maintenance strategies.

* Apply lean manufacturing principles and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimise machinery performance.

* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and contribute to a culture of safety awareness.

* Document maintenance activities using CMMS or other maintenance management systems.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production supervisors, electrical engineers, and process improvement specialists, to enhance overall operational efficiency.

Requirements

* Proven experience as a mechanical maintenance engineer, ideally within a manufacturing, production, or FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) environment.

* Strong mechanical skills, including expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems used in production machinery.

* Familiarity with automation systems, robotics, and PLC-controlled equipment is advantageous.

* Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, or other process improvement methodologies is highly desirable.

* Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent in mechanical engineering or a related field.

* Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns and emergencies.

* Excellent troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills.
