SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? A fantastic two-form entry primary school in the affluent area of Woodford, Redbridge, is seeking a strong and compassionate SEN TA to support children in Reception with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including non-verbal students.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to Reception children with ASD.

• Implement tailored learning strategies to support non-verbal students.

• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to create an inclusive learning environment.

• Use visual aids, Makaton, or PECS to assist communication where necessary.

• Foster independence and confidence in students while managing behaviour positively.

Applicants Should:

• Have prior experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD.

• Be confident in managing challenging behaviours in a patient and understanding manner.

• Have a proactive, engaging, and resilient approach to supporting young learners.

• Be able to establish strong relationships with children, staff, and parents.

• Hold a valid DBS check (or be willing to obtain one).
